AEC Delegation at WSIS 2026

A delegation from the Agency for Electronic Communications (AEC), comprising Prof. Dr. Orce Simov, President of the AEC Commission, Dr. Admirim Aliti, Member of the AEC Commission, and the Director of the Agency, Mr. Nusret Haliti, is participating in the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS 2026), held in Geneva from 6 to 10 July 2026.

This event is organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), UNESCO, UNDP and UNCTAD, in partnership with more than fifty United Nations organizations, which provide a coherent system-wide approach and serve as the central platform for information society stakeholders, bringing together governments, the private sector, civil society, the technical community, academia, youth and international organizations in a uniquely inclusive environment for dialogue, cooperation and action aimed at advancing the implementation of the Summit’s action plans and supporting global digital cooperation.

Within the framework of this Summit, the delegation of the Agency for Electronic Communications held a direct working meeting with the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin, with the Director of the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) – Mr. Cosmas Zavazava and with the Head of the Office for Europe at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Mr. Jaroslaw K. Ponder. The meeting discussed the current cooperation with the Agency for Electronic Communications, highlighting the high level of coordination and participation in international, and especially regional cooperation, as well as the further planned activities that will elevate the synchronization of joint action and the partnership between these two entities.
