- Coordinates activities related related to the implementation of the Law on Electronic Communications in the telecommunication sector in the Republic of Macedonia in terms of the notification procedure for operators of public electronic communication networks and providers of public electronic communication services, numbering, universal service, interconnection, access to public communication networks, unbundling access to local loop, technical regulations and standards for the construction and operation of public communication networks and provision of public communication services.
- The team of the Telecommunications Department is responsible to deliver initiatives and proposals for amending the regulations on telecommunications for harmonization with the EU regulations;Organises and monitors the receipt of notifications and issuance of certificate for registration of operators and /or electronic communication service providers;
- Organises and monitors inspection carried out on the operators and/or electronic communication service providers, including the operators and electronic communication service providers with significant market powerin terms of their operation compliance with the regulations;
- Provides opinions and suggestions regarding the implementation of the AEC regulations pertaining to the conditions and required documentation for performing construction activities and/or use of public electronic communication networks and/or the provision of the public electronic communication services, universal services, provision of competition in the telecommunications sector, interconnection and access public electronic communication networks and/or services, access and use of specific network facilities, numbering and number portability, protection of public electronic communication networks, secrecy and confidentiality of communications, users rights of the public electronic communication services; provides opinions regarding the approval of telecommunications terminal equipment;
- Organises and monitor the procedure for allocation of numbers and series of numbers, gives opinions and suggestions regarding the preparation, implementation and updating of the Numbering Plan;
- Provides opinions and suggestions on quality parameters of electronic communication services, for the development of competition in the telecommunications sector;
- Provides opinions and suggestions in approving the reference interconnection offers, offers for access and reference offers for unbundled access to the local loop to the operators of public electronic communication networksand /or providers of public electronic communication services with significant market power in the relevant market;
- Provides opinions and suggestions in determining the provider/providers of universal service and control the fulfillment of the obligations of the nominee provider/providers of universal service;
- Activities related to the implementation of the Law on Electronic Communications concerning the technical regulations and standards for the construction and operation of public electronic communication networks, telecommunications terminal equipment, interconnection and access to public communication networks and unbundled access to the local loop.
- Activities related to the implementation of the Law on Electronic Communications concerning the technical regulations and standards for the provision of public communication services, public communication services subject to interconnection andaccess to public communication networks, unbundled access to the local loop, provision of universal services.
